(Kopie 1)

Note

Submission of final theses during the closure periods from 27 December 2023 to 7 January 2024 inclusive

The final theses must be submitted digitally in advance during the closure periods in order to meet the submission deadlines.

On 8 January 2024, the final theses must then be submitted to the Examination Office in triplicate.

Step by step

The practical semester, practical project and final thesis are formally separate elements of the degree programme. They can only be completed one after the other and not in parallel.

The practical project can optionally be included in the content of the final thesis, but is not part of the Bachelor's thesis. The practical project is always completed before the start of the final thesis.

practical semester

Compulsory: no

Duration: 20 weeks (1 semester)

Credits: 30 ECTS

Prerequisite: 90 ECTS from the entire degree programme; registered at FH Aachen

When: As soon as 90 credits have been achieved, at the latest after the 5th semester and only at the change of semester. It is not possible to change to the practical semester in the current semester.

Procedure

1. If necessary, change to the parallel degree programme with practical semester

Please note: Transfer is not possible if an examination in the faculty's previous degree programme has been definitively failed.
Previously successfully completed modules will be recognised and failed attempts will be credited.

Note: Computer Science and Electrical Engineering students are normally registered directly for a degree programme with practical semester. A change is only necessary if the practical semester is not completed or if a change has already taken place. If in doubt, please check your registration certificate in good time: No note means no practical semester, otherwise the note "with practical semester" will appear.

Form: Application for change of degree programme see Registrar's Office

  • Necessary contractual content is agreed individually with the company and the supervising teacher
  • There is no model contract. The contract is normally drawn up by the company.

5. practical report

  • Formal requirement after consultation with the supervising teacher
  • Please also submit the report to the in-house supervisor
  • Oral presentation by arrangement if necessary

Visibility for your electrical engineering project

Do you have an interesting project or are you currently writing your bachelor's thesis and want to show off your skills?

Then get in touch with the Departmental Marketing team and we'll make sure your project is seen.

What is the goal?

One aim of department marketing is to make the subject of electrical engineering more tangible and concrete for pupils. Many people know computer science from their school lessons, but when it comes to electrical engineering, many only have a vague idea of what you do at university. This is a shame, because many computer science students tell us that they might have chosen electrical engineering if they had known more about it beforehand.

Building on the ideas of an interdisciplinary project that has set itself the goal of changing this, we are therefore looking for very specific projects from electrical engineering students in the faculty that we can report on the website and on our social media channels.
