Facts in a nutshell

The Industry 4.0 Summer School has a duration of 2 weeks.

Über die Industrie 4.0 Summer School

The Industry 4.0 Summer School gives an insight into the objectives and strategies of Industry 4.0, shows the current status of activities, and provides information on how to benefit from the ideas linked to Industrie 4.0 today. In addition to a theoretical introduction to Industry 4.0, the main technologies and processes for the implementation of Industrie 4.0 will be introduced and then addressed in greater detail in a workshop. The aim is actually to enable digitalisation. Starting from the process itself, the digitisation of  companies will be introduced and then expanded on using hands-on examples. A model system will be used to demonstrate the technological possibilities.

  • Learn why Industry 4.0 is so important for European industry and what is hidden behind the keyword I4.0.
  • Get to know the development strategy for Industry 4.0 and find out which actions are still to be taken.
  • Learn the keywords related to Industrie 4.0 from Augmented Reality to Cloud, CPS and IoT and on to Smart Factory, value creation chains and XaaS.
  • Look through the entire digital value creation chain from intelligent sensors to cloud services.
  • Understand the technologies that make a machine, system or factory capable for industrial communication.
  • Discover the significance of IT, IT infrastructure and IT security in the context of Industry 4.0 for an automation system.
  • Design your first digitised processes yourself and find out about the effects on a model factory.
