Heteronormativität

Heteronormativity describes a worldview and a social value system that recognises only two genders (male and female) and heterosexual relationships (one man and one woman) between these genders and considers them normal.

People who do not fit into this two-gender binary order, for example because they identify as non-binary, trans* or inter*, or do not have heterosexual relationships, are perceived as "different" and "not normal".
