The glossary is intended to help us agree on a language that helps to break down barriers and create opportunities for all people. In our society today, inequalities based on gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability and other characteristics persist. These inequalities affect key aspects of life, such as access to education, employment, health care or political participation.
To reduce these inequalities, it is important to develop a common language and understanding on gender equality issues.
