Applied Physics B.Eng.
Our world is developing at a rapid pace. New technologies that were unthinkable just a few years ago are constantly changing our everyday lives. In order to find innovative technical solutions and develop ever better products, well-trained specialists who can work in an interdisciplinary and systematic manner are needed.
The Applied Physics degree programme combines a basic physical education with practical engineering methods from electrical and mechanical engineering: students acquire sound knowledge of modern physics and at the same time develop skills in electronics, measurement and control technology, design and CAD, optics and laser technology, as well as simulation and data analysis.
Studying on campus, small learning groups, practice-orientated laboratory units, excursions and direct contact in industrial internships ensure that the enthusiasm for creative tinkering is transferred and that theory leads directly to
practically visible results.

Information events
First impressions count: At fairs and events, you can get a taste of the university. You can get to know professors, students and Research Assistants even before you start your studies. Come to the FH Aachen University Information Day (HIT) or visit our exhibition stands at the "ZAB" study fair in the Eurogress, "Berufe live Rheinland" in Düsseldorf or at "Einstieg Abi" in Cologne to find out more about the FH and the Applied Physics degree programme.
Are you interested in our degree programme? Find out all the details directly on site at the University Information Day! You can find all information at
www.fh-aachen.de/hit

Experience reports and career prospects
Dual students at Forschungszentrum Jülich honoured as best in the state
As in the previous year, two students from our degree programme were once again honoured in the current year of physics laboratory technician trainees at Forschungszentrum Jülich. We are particularly pleased about this, as they are dual students who have already successfully completed their 5th subject-specific semester in parallel with their training. Congratulations!
You can find more information about the dual study programme here
Podcast on career prospects
Further interesting impressions of occupational fields for physicists can be found, for example, on the website of the German Physical Society (DPG). The young DPG working group has produced a podcast on the subject of Meet your Future.
...something with technology
In this blog article on the think-ing.de platform, a physics engineering student reports on why he chose this degree programme and gives personal impressions of his studies.
For general questions about studying and the university, the Student Service Centre (SSC) is a good place to go. There you will also find many other links to counselling and service offers on a wide range of topics related to your studies. For more detailed questions about the Applied Physics degree programme, our degree programme flyer or the associated Examination Regulations(see Downloads) may be helpful. You are also welcome to contact the relevant Academic Counselling Service.
