Medizintechnik/Medical Engineering M.Sc.
The New International Research Master's Programme in Medical Engineering
The newly designed international Master's degree programme in Medical Engineering was launched in the winter semester 2021/22. With this new degree programme, a so-called Research Master, the Faculty of Medical Engineering and Technomathematics aims to offer an internationally oriented (the degree programme is bilingual; the languages of instruction are German and English) and, above all, research-oriented range of studies offered.
Students on this Master's degree programme have the opportunity to study a topic in depth, which they select together with the professors and the Institutes. In addition to the practical trainings accompanying the lectures, 50% of this programme consists of practical laboratory work, the research phases. The other teaching modules are put together individually to suit the research topic. As the research phases of the individual semesters build on each other and the students therefore deal intensively with a topic over a much longer period of time than usual, the result at the end of the programme surpasses "normal" Master's theses and graduates leave FH Aachen as experts who no longer require much training in their future field of work.
This research master's programme is therefore designed to prepare students for a scientific career in medical technology. The faculties' strong research orientation offers excellent opportunities and well-equipped laboratories for exciting challenges in medical technology research.
