Research Topics / Research Phases

During your application, you will be asked to state your preferences regarding your research specialisation. Although this is not yet binding, it gives the programme planners an initial indication of your requirements. You and your supervisors will actually meet in the first two weeks of the first semester during an introductory phase.

The resulting research phases are usually completed at FH Aachen. A research phase outside FH Aachen is only permitted if the supervisor is significantly involved in the work on which the research thesis is based in an appropriate manner.

Possible research areas and topics are currently listed below. These only provide a rough framework. The subject areas are assigned links as examples, which refer, e.g., to laboratory or institute pages of possible supervisors (the links do not claim to be exhaustive, neither in the selection of topics nor in the presentation of lecturers). Here you will find an Overview of all lecturers of the FB9 including their subject areas. Of course, there are also overlaps, so some links may be assigned twice.
