Coordination Office for Doubts about Studying
Do you have any doubts about your studies and are unsure whether you want to continue, change to a different degree programme, or drop out? Doubts during the course of studies are completely normal and occur in different phases of studying. If you have more frequent or longer-lasting doubts, you should deal with them in a targeted manner. Surveys at FH Aachen show that doubts do not automatically lead to the end of your studies.
Click here to go to the respective FH Aachen page for more information on the topic of study doubts.
Compensation for disadvantages is a legal entitlement for students with disabilities, which is also enshrined in law. It should be emphasised that compensation for disadvantages does not represent a facilitation or preference; rather, students with an impairment should be given the same opportunities as fellow students without an impairment.
Although the compensation for disadvantages is laid down in law, there is no legal entitlement to a specific compensation for disadvantages. Compensation for disadvantages is granted on an individual basis, as different types of compensation for disadvantages have different supportive effects on students.
Possible compensations for disadvantages are
- Time allowance for written examinations
- Conversion of written examinations into oral examinations
- Conversion of oral examinations into written examinations
- Interrupting examinations with rest breaks
- Splitting examination achievements into partial performances
- Separate processing room with needs-based equipment
Here you can access the template for applying for compensation for disadvantages.
