Transfer to Another University and Degree Programme
Are you a transfer student and have already completed academic achievements at another university? If so, these achievements may be recognised in accordance with the Higher Education Act, the Framework Examination Regulations and the Examination Regulations for the respective degree programme.
To do this, submit an application to the Examination Board of the Faculty of Business Studies for recognition of study and examination achievements completed elsewhere.
Once you have taken the examination at FH Aachen, recognition is no longer possible. Please use the following steps as a guide.
Important Deadlines
Desired start of studies summer semester:
Submission of applications for recognition: no later than 6 weeks before the application deadline
Desired start of studies winter semester:
Submission of applications for recognition: no later than 6 weeks before the application deadline
Please Submit the Following Documents:
- Fully completed application form (in Excel format)
- Copy of transcript of records, including failed attempts
- Clearance certificate
- Module descriptions of all modules that are to be recognised
- Form for classification in a higher subject-specific semester( can be foundhere )

Please note that some degree programmes in higher semesters are admission-restricted. This means that there is no guarantee that you will be offered a place at university.
First Step: Classification
To transfer to another university at FH Aachen, you must obtain confirmation of classification in a higher subject-specific semester from the Examination Office of the Faculty of Business Studies.
You will need the confirmation of classification in a higher subject-specific semester in digital form/as a scan for the application via the online application portal.
Second Step: Online Application
To transfer to another university at FH Aachen, you must complete the online application. Please visit the pages of the Registrar' s Office to find out about the application deadlines.
Please do not deregister at the other university until you have received a letter of admission from FH Aachen.
Third Step: Submission of Documents
If the answer is positive, you will receive a letter of admission from the Registrar's Office containing information on the registration period and a list of the documents you still need to bring with you. As a rule, these are
1. the letter of admission,
2. valid identity card, passport or confirmation of registration (copy for written registration)
3. a receipted payment slip or account statement showing the social contribution and student activity fees paid,
4. Current proof of health insurance for students,
5. Certificate of exmatriculation,
6. Clearance certificate for students transferring from universities of applied sciences in the same degree programme,
7. Classification certificate from the departmental examination office.
Transfer Students with a Foreign University Entrance Qualification
As a transfer student for Bachelor's degree programmes with a foreign university entrance qualification, you must first have the"uni-assist" institution check whether your foreign certificates meet the requirements of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (Central Office for Foreign Education (ZaB)) and are generally sufficient for admission to higher education in Germany.
