Change of degree programme and change of university
Are you a transfer student and have already completed academic achievements at another university? If so, these achievements may be recognised in accordance with the Higher Education Act, the Framework Examination Regulations and the Examination Regulations for the respective degree programme.
To do so, apply to the Examination Board of the Faculty of Business Studies for recognition of study and examination achievements gained elsewhere.
After taking the examination at FH Aachen, recognition is no longer possible.
Please submit the following documents:
- Fully completed application form (as Excel file)
- Copy of the transcript of records
- Module descriptions of all modules that are to be recognised.

Please bear in mind that some degree programmes in higher semesters are admission-restricted. This means that it is not guaranteed that you will get a place at university.
Important deadlines
Desired start of studies summer semester:
Submission of applications for recognition: at the latest 6 weeks before the end of application
Desired start of studies winter semester:

First step: Classification
For the transfer to another university at the FH Aachen, you have to obtain a confirmation of classification in a higher subject-specific semester from the Examination Office of the Faculty of Business Studies.
You need the confirmation of classification in a higher subject-specific semester in digital form/scan for the application via the online application portal.
Second step: Online application
For the transfer to another university at FH Aachen you have to fill in the online application. Please visit the pages of the Registrar's Office to find out about the application deadlines.
Please do not deregister from the other university until you have received a letter of admission from FH Aachen.
Third step: Submission of documents
If the answer is positive, you will receive a letter of admission from the Registrar's Office, which contains information about the period of registration and a list of documents you still need to bring with you. As a rule, these are
1. the letter of admission,
2. valid identity card, passport or confirmation of registration (copy in the case of written registration)
3. a receipted deposit slip or bank statement showing the social contribution/student activity fee paid,
4. Current health insurance certificate for students,
5. Exmatriculation certificate,
6. Clearance certificate' for transfer students from universities of applied sciences in the same degree programme,
7. Classification certificate from the examination office of the faculty.
Transfer students with foreign university entrance qualification
As a transfer student for Bachelor's degree programmes with a foreign university entrance qualification, you must first have the"uni-assist" institution pre-check whether your foreign certificates meet the requirements of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (Central Office for Foreign Education (ZaB)) and are generally sufficient for university admission in Germany.
