Change of University with Admission to First Subject-Specific Semester
Have you already studied at a university and would like to continue your studies at FH Aachen?
An online application is required for admission to the first subject-specific semester ("Fachsemester"). Further information can be found on the page Application Process.
Change of University with Admission to Higher Subject-Specific Semester
For admission to studies in a higher subject-specific semester, a classification by the faculty is required, in addition to the online application.
Please have the form Einstufung bei Studiengangwechsel/Hochschulwechsel ("Classification in a Higher Subject-Specific Semester") signed by the Examination Board of the respective faculty of FH Aachen and upload it during the online application.

Change of University with Admission to First Subject-Specific Semester
Would you like to transfer to a Bachelor's degree programme and did you get your university entrance qualification abroad?
If so, you must apply via uni-assist. uni assist checks whether your foreign certificates meet the comparability criteria of the ZaB Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen (Central Office for Foreign Education) and whether you can be admitted to a degree programme in Germany.
The application documents for the first subject-specific semester must be submitted to uni-assist in due time:
for the winter semester, 15 July
for the summer semester, 15 January

If you want to change to a higher subject-specific semester, please have the form Einstufung bei Studiengangwechsel/Hochschulwechsel ("Classification in a Higher Subject-Specific Semester") signed by the Examination Board of the respective faculty of FH Aachen and upload it during the online application via uni-assist.

Admission restrictions in higher semesters
The following degree programmes are admission restricted in higher semesters:
Bachelor's Degree Programmes
- Betriebswirtschaft/Business Studies
- Betriebswirtschaft/Business Studies (Teilzeit)
- Global Business and Economics
- International Business Studies
- International Business Studies (4-jährig)
- Kommunikationsdesign
- Digital Innovation and Business
- Produktdesign
- Wirtschaftsinformatik
- Wirtschaftsrecht
Master's Degree Programmes
- Industrial Engineering
- Industrial Engineering (mit Anpassungssemester)
- International Business Management - Finance, Accounting, Control, Taxation
- International Business Management - Kunden- und Servicemanagement
- Produktentwicklung Maschinenbau
- Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen.
If a degree programme also has admission restrictions in higher subject-specific semesters, it might not be possible for all applicants to be offered a place at university.
After the re-registration phase has been completed, the number of places still available is determined and these are then allocated to transfer students.
