FH Card

In order to be able to use your FH Card in its full functionality, you must activate it in two steps:

1. Enter your activation code from the cover letter you received with your FH Card on the Services page under the menu item Card Overview.
2. To activate the payment function, insert your FH card into a machine of the refectories and cafeterias of FH Aachen or RWTH Aachen University. Afterwards, you can load your FH card with credit and use it for payment.

You are free to choose whether you apply for a FH Card or a library card via the Services page of FH Aachen.

If you have indicated a place of residence in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg, the FH Card will be sent to you by post.

If you live abroad or if you are a participant in the Freshman Programme or a DSH student, your FH Card will be available for collection at the FH Card Service Point in Aachen or Jülich.

As a cross-registered student, you will receive a FH Card with the separate imprint "Zweithörer:in" (cross-registered student) instead of the name "Studierendenausweis / Student Identity Card". It is equipped with the full functionality of the FH Card.

As a guest auditor, you will not receive a FH Card, but a separate guest auditor ID in paper form, as before. Since you are only admitted for one semester at a time, your card must be reissued every semester.

The FH Card is free of charge.

Please apply for a name change via the FH Aachen-Portal and afterwards apply for the reissue of your FH Card via the Services page. 

In case of loss or theft, please block your FH card via the Services page of FH Aachen. Please note that once a card has been blocked, it cannot be unblocked again for security reasons.  After the card has been blocked, you can also apply for a replacement card via the Services page.

The photo for your FH Card should clearly show your identity at the time of application. Only photos in JPG file format can be uploaded on the Services page. Please do not use scanned or photographed photos. A selfie in front of a neutral background and looking into the camera is usually sufficient.

Please upload your photo, which is mandatory for the issue of the FH Card, directly into our ordering system on the Services page.

Your photo will be saved for the time of your enrolment at FH Aachen. After activating your FH Card, you can upload a new photo of yourself via the Services page. You can withdraw your consent to use the photo on the FH Card by deleting the photo. This will automatically withdraw the consent to use the photo for the online services of FH Aachen.

Approved photos are required for the history function and can no longer be deleted. These photos are automatically deleted upon deregistration.
