In der Regel sind Summer Schools kostenpflichtig und als ein- oder mehrwöchige Intensivprogramme konzipiert.

ROS Summer School 14-25 August 2023
Seit 2012 bietet der Fachbereich Maschinenbau und Mechatronik zusammen mit dem Fachbereich Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit im Bereich der mobilen autonomen Robotik eine internationale ROS Summer School an, die seitdem stetigen Zuspruch erfährt. Hier werden sowohl die Grundlagen, als auch weiterführende Themen im Bereich der Wahrnehmung, Lokalisierung und Navigation von mobilen Robotern erarbeitet. Weiterhin wird alles in englischer Sprache auf einem recht hohen technischen Niveau präsentiert.
ROS Summer School 2023
We are happy to inform you that FH Aachen UAS organizes a ROS Summer School in Aachen again. Starting the August 14th and ending with a competition on August 25th, we are offering again a unique experience to learn ROS from scratch or deepen intermediate ROS knowledge with a lot of seminars, workshops and – of course – practical coding. The teaching material was updated to ROS2 in order to teach the newest ROS versions using the latest packages like e.g. Nav2 to guide our TurtleBots through the arena.
The Robot Operating System (ROS) summer school provides the right starter kit by using our robotic hardware and – of course – ROS software. We first start with some days of introductory courses, before we tackle the main task of mobile robotics, i.e. perception, localization, mapping and path planning. A highlight is a competition at the end of the second week: Summer School participants form different teams that have the task to design a typical mobile robotic application like indoor/outdoor exploration. They all use the same hardware, powered by their learnt ROS skills.

Magellan Exchange Summer and Short-Term Programs
There are several summer and short-term programs available through The Magellan Exchange. Applications for most of these programs are approved on a first come, first served basis! Some summer programs require minimum participation and/or have a maximum number of allowable participants, so please apply early.
Portugal: Porto Accounting and Business School (ISCAP), Juli 2024
The Summer Executive School is a unique opportunity for professionals looking to enhance their skills and knowledge. The program will take place from July 15 to July 19, 2024, and the application period will be until April 7, 2024.
The target audience for this program is students and young professionals.
The minimum number of participants is 10 and the maximum is 20.
During the program, participants will have the opportunity to attend 5 modules from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 1 pm.
The modules offered include Business Models, Corporate Communication, Digital Transformation, Sales and Business, and Talent Acquisition. Each module has a duration of 3 hours.
Lunch and morning coffee breaks are included from Monday to Friday. The Social Dinner will be held in the city centre of Porto. This program offers an excellent opportunity for professionals to network and acquire new skills, while enjoying the beautiful city of Porto.

Frankreich: Sommer-Französischkurse für Studierende, August 2024
Das Büro für Hochschulkooperation des Institut français Deutschland/der Französischen Botschaft in Deutschland, in Verbindung mit Campus France Deutschland, hat sein neues Sprach-Stipendienprogramm für Studierende an deutschen Hochschulen veröffentlicht.
Bei den Stipendien geht es um 1 Monat Intensivkurs Französisch (24 Stunden/Woche) im August 2024 am CIEL Bretagne in Le Relecq-Kerhuon in Frankreich.
Das Stipendium umfasst:
• Hin- und Rückreise Deutschland - Le Relecq-Kerhuon
• Unterkunft: wahlweise im Studierendenwohnheim ODER bei einer Gastfamilie.
• Freizeitprogramm: Besuche in der Umgebung, sportliche Aktivitäten, Kochworkshops etc.
• Zulage (je nach Unterkunftsart)
• Versicherung für die gesamte Dauer des Aufenthalts.
Die Sommer-Französischkurse richten sich an Studierende, die an einer deutschen Hochschule eingeschrieben sind und ein Studium in Frankreich (Bachelor, Master, Promotion etc.) planen, bereits Französischkenntnisse haben (Niveau B1) und für die Realisierung dieses Projekts das Niveau B2 benötigen oder ihre Französischkenntnisse darüber hinaus verbessern möchten.
Priorität wird den Personen eingeräumt, die ein konkretes Studienprojekt in Frankreich haben und einen sehr guten akademischen Leistungsnachweis erbringen.
Die Motivation für ein Studium in Frankreich wird ebenfalls besonders berücksichtigt, um die Stipendien zu vergeben.

As part of the Global Mobilities projects we would like to introduce our Virtual Mobility project 'E-Xplore the Globe – Rest of the World'. The focus of this project is to give students the opportunity to virtually travel through different countries via locally delivered webinars on topics such as culture, language, employment, technology and sustainability. Frankreich: Autumn semester online French courses
The CILEC has opened the application period for the beginner French online course. The deadline for applications is the 14th July 2024.
What are the advantages?
- have solid bases in French language for complete beginners
- have the opportunity to validate a A1 level certificate
- be free to work at home, depending of each one's schedule
- after the arrival in France: have communication bases with the laboratory staff
To integrate this study program, students are asked to have a B1 English level, to permit them to communicate with the teacher.
