Diversity and Equal Opportunities at FH Aachen
FH Aachen stands for a culture of recognition, appreciation and active promotion of commonalities. As a university of applied sciences, we see diversity not only as a reality, but also as an opportunity that we deliberately utilise and develop further.
Our goal is to create an environment in which diversity and equity of opportunity can flourish freely – a place of learning, teaching and research where different perspectives are seen as something enriching. We consider diverse backgrounds and experiences to be a valuable resource that promotes creativity and innovation in teaching, research and organisation.
Diversity and equity of opportunity are essential components of our self-image. On the one hand, they enable us to prepare open-minded students for their careers in business and science in the best possible way. On the other hand, they lead to significantly more satisfied and successful students, teachers, and employees, who contribute to a positive university atmosphere overall.
At FH Aachen, you will find the Coordination Office for Diversity and Equity of Opportunity (KoDiC), which deals with diversity management and inclusion, among other things, and the Equal Opportunities Office, which actively promotes gender equality.
Both areas operate independently, but we also benefit from synergies and different perspectives and see ourselves as a cross-sectional area of the entire university.
