What is the minimum wage? Why do many companies relocate their production abroad? How are petrol prices determined? How do discount stores operate? How do I set up a business? These are typical, everyday questions that business administration – often referred to simply as ‘BWL’ – deals with. Business administration is and remains the most popular degree subject in Germany and is also one of the most diverse degree programmes. Broadly speaking, business studies examines how a company is managed, controlled and organised, and how the various sections interact. The focus is always on how to increase success and turnover. However, business graduates also look beyond the individual company. They observe the market and trends – such as people’s purchasing behaviour – and keep an eye on the competition and the state, which sets the legal framework.
What makes the Business Studies degree programme at FH Aachen special is that you gain a broad knowledge of business administration. Through your individual choice of specialisations, you have the opportunity to tailor your study progress to your interests and inclinations as you progress through the degree programme.
Programme options
Would you like to tailor your degree programme to your personal goals or circumstances? The degree programme offers various study options to suit your needs. You can complete Business Studies as a traditional full-time degree programme over six semesters. Additionally, you have the option to include an extra mobility semester to gain practical training through an internship, spend a semester abroad, or participate in a project or research initiative.
For students who need more flexibility in their daily lives, the degree programme is also offered as a part-time course. If you wish to combine your studies closely with professional practice, you can also opt for dual studies, in which you undertake vocational training or work alongside your studies.
